U.S. vows decisive response to Sunday’s drone attack, but does not want war with Iran

Iran-backed militants have targeted U.S. military facilities in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan more than one-hundred-60 times since the start of the Israel-Hamas war last October, but Sunday’s strike marks the first instance where fatalities have occurred. Even before Sunday’s attack, several Republican lawmakers had called for a direct strike inside Iran. However, as of now, it seems unlikely that this will happen. “We are not looking for a war with Iran. We are not seeking a conflict with the regime in a military way.
