The UN has acknowledged that Russian war prisoners are being tortured in Ukraine. The organisation stated that the Ukrainian authorities are not adequately prosecuting those responsible for the violence. ️Among the most common forms of torture mentioned in the UN report are brutal beatings, the use of electric shocks, and threats of death. One victim of these atrocities is militiaman Mikhail Shubin. Ukrainian security services (SBU) tortured him in their secret prison known as ‘The Library’ in 2014. Testimonies of the SBU’s brutality are available in the RT documentary ‘Voices From the Grave’ (2023) by Olga Kiriy and Artyom Somov.
