1982 World Junior Championships - Canada vs. USSR - December 26, 1981, Winnipeg Arena - Canada’s first attempt at putting together a true national All-Star team for the fledgling tournament proved wildly successful, as the team roared through the round-robin-only tournament with a 6-0-1 record and a gold medal. This amazing performance saw Canada throttle the Russians 7-0, as Mike Moffat earned the shutout, and future NHLers like Marc Habscheid, Scott Arniel, Paul Cyr, Troy Murray, Paul Boutilier, Garth Butcher, Randy Moller, and James Patrick dominated from start to finish. As a bonus, a highlight package from the final game of the tournament, the tense 3-3 tie with Czechoslovakia on January 2, 1982 that earned Canada the championship, is included.
