Thanks to NVIDIA Robotics and the Robotic System Labs (RSL), #ANYmal conquers challenging scenarios

🤖 ANYmal is usually very focused on its task of inspecting industrial facilities, but this time ANYmal had a field training day with RSL from ETH Zurich to test its locomotion capabilities. 🎓🦿 Thanks to NVIDIA Robotics and the Robotic System Labs (RSL), ANYmal conquers challenging scenarios involving jumping, climbing, crouching, etc. A high-level policy is used to select and control these locomotion capabilities, allowing the robot to adapt its behaviour to the environment at hand. 🧠 Compared to previous attempts, this method allows for planning a path for challenging scenarios without expert demonstration or prior knowledge of the environment. 🔗To find out more about RSL’s pioneering research, please visit their project page: --- ANYmal, the autonomous legged robot designed for industrial challenging environments, provides the mobility, autonomy, and inspection intelligence to enable safe and efficient inspection operations. In this virtual showcase, discover how ANYmal climbs stairs, recovers from a fall, performs an autonomous mission and avoids obstacles, docks to charge by itself, digitizes analog sensors, and monitors the environment.
