The first part of this full walkthrough features the first floor of Art Basel Hong Kong which includes Galleries like David Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, Perrotin, Gagosian, Annely Juda Fine Art and many more. Art Basel Hong Kong 2024, the premier art fair in Asia, marked a triumphant return to its full scale, showcasing the vibrant art scene across the Asia-Pacific and beyond. The 11th edition, the largest since 2019, welcomed 242 leading galleries from across the globe. The event attracted over 75,000 visitors, from local art enthusiasts to international patrons, highlighting the fair’s broad appeal and its role in fostering global art connections. Notably, the fair became a meeting point for representatives from over 100 prestigious museums and institutions worldwide, reinforcing its status as a key player in the international art world. The fair’s comprehensive program featured not only exceptional artworks but also an expanded array of public events across Hong Kong, in partnership with leading local institutions. A highlight was the Artists’ Night at Tai Kwun, a testament to Hong Kong’s cultural dynamism and its capacity to host major international art events. Additionally, the announcement of the MGM Discoveries Art Prize for emerging artists from 2025 onwards demonstrates Art Basel Hong Kong’s commitment to nurturing new talent. Director Angelle Siyang-Le reflected on the fair as a vibrant reflection of Hong Kong itself, a city that seamlessly blends tradition with the avant-garde. The fair reported significant sales, showcasing a wide array of artists from the Asia-Pacific and beyond, including both established and emerging talents.
