Bangladesh NOW! Deadly Storm Claims Lives of 13, Leaves 7,000 Homeless! | Severe Weather
On April 7, a powerful pre-monsoon storm struck Bangladesh. The Department of Disaster Management recorded 13 deaths, mostly in the districts of Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Jalkati, Bhola, Khulna, Netrokona, and Bagerhat. In Bhola district alone, more than 7,000 people were affected, dozens were injured, and there are also reports of people missing.
People died due to falling trees, collapsing houses, and hurricane-force winds. Many deaths occurred as a result of lightning strikes, mostly affecting farmers who continued to work outdoors unaware of the approaching storm. Weather events, with strong winds blowing from the northwest direction, occur periodically in Bangladesh from March to May. However, this storm was not predicted and came as a complete surprise to the country’s residents.
In various southern regions, numerous tornadoes and storm winds were observed from morning until noon, with storms lasting about one and a half hours in some areas and only 15 minutes in others. But this time was enough to sow chaos in the region. Over 750 houses were damaged or destroyed, and hundreds of kilometers of power lines were damaged. Many areas were left without electricity, and fallen trees blocked municipal roads. Crops were also affected, with hail damaging various crops, including watermelons.
Near Manpura Island, a trawler capsized due to strong winds, with six fishermen on board. Fortunately, the entire crew was rescued.
Stormy weather was also observed in West Bengal, India.
It is worth noting that all anomalous storms, which bring hurricane-force winds, thunderstorms, heavy rains, hail, and even tornadoes, are preceded by record heat. Thus, in this case, in Bangladesh, for several days before the deadly storm, the temperature rose to abnormal levels—over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in some areas of the Pashchimanchal region.
According to the European Union’s Copernicus Climate Service, March 2024 was the hottest on record, marking the tenth consecutive record-breaking month. This means that the number and intensity of sudden destructive storms will increase at record rates. No country, even economically developed, is prepared for such a scale of losses.
Extreme heat is progressing worldwide and defies forecasts. This indicates that these forecasts do not take into account the key factor that causes such abnormal planet overheating.
This factor has been extensively studied by an international group of scientists, and information about this vital discovery was presented at the “Global Crisis. The Responsibility“ forum. Review it to be prepared for what lies ahead.
