Yuri (George) Sergeevich Milyutin (April 5, 1903 , Moscow - June 9 , 1968 , Moscow) - Soviet composer , People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1964), laureate of the Stalin Prize of the second degree (1949). In 1921 he graduated from the studio of the Moscow Chamber Theater. In 1924-1925 he was accepted as a composer and pianist into the Blue Blouse pop group. He wrote dance music and songs, in particular, “Marseille is noisy at night” (1924) to the verses of N. R. Erdman , “Tango” (1924) and “On the old barge” (1926) to the verses of O. Osenin for the Krivoi miniature theaters Jimmy“, “Peacock’s Tail“, cabaret “Don’t Cry“. In 1924, Milyutin made his debut as an operetta author , when “Ballerina of the Imperial Theaters” was staged on the stage of the Moscow Hermitage Theater.
