RAJASTHANI FOLK MUSICAL INSTRUMENT- SINDHI SARANGI

Instrument “Sindhi Sarangi“ is mainly in the hands of Langa caste musicians and they are known as “Sarangiya Langa“ in western part of Rajasthan. It is a string instrument played by bow. Instrument is made by “Tali“ or “Seesham“ wood. In all total 26 strings are used in Sindhi Sarangi. The four main strings are tied with “Moranas“ in which two strings are prepared by goat’s intestine -called “Agore“ “Dadar“ and rest two strings are made from steel, called “Joda“.
