Mannequinization is the process of using simple, three dimensional forms to construct a pose, and it’s integral to both drawing and sculpting. Since sculptures are already three dimensional, the process of mannequinization is centered around temporarily ignoring surface details and focusing on the primary forms that make up the figure. Join Andrew Joseph Keith as he shows you how a sculptor approaches mannequinization.
