The Ford Ranchero was manufactured between 1957 and 1979. Built on a two- door station wagon platform intergrading a cab and cargo bed into the body. The original Ranchero was so successful that General Motors got into the Car/ pickup craze with the Chevrolet El Camino in 1959. Over its lifespan, the Ranchero was produced on compact, mid-sized and full -size platforms. Considered an alternative utility vehicle, the Ranchero took on a cult following for customers who had no interest in a full -size pickup truck. A following that led to 508,000 units sold during its production run. Our 1966 Ford is a great example of the third generation Ranchero. Based on the Ford Falcon platform, new revised styling gave the 1966 Ranchero a sportier new look. A heater-defroster became standard along with a premium interior package. This 1966 Ranchero comes in a sexy red paint scheme with a custom black velour interior. Accented by new mag wheels mounted on new set of raised white tires. Under the hood is a 200 cubic inch engine attached to a 3-speed column mounted manual transmission. Recent mechanical work has been done including a new manifold, master cylinder, front wheel brake cylinders. Front brake hoses, and new door weather stripping.
