A man so renowned amongst his peers and fans that he not only has a nickname, but also a corner of The Rec named Horse Corner in his honour, Will Muir has been in such sensational form that he’s found himself included in Steve Borthwick’s Six Nations squad, if only by replacing injured players.
But why should we be excited to see him potentially secure his first international cap for England?
At club level for Bath Rugby, Muir is a sensational ball carrier that seems to adopt an almost improvisational playing style; reacting to what’s in front of him instead of following the rigidity of an imposed structure of rules and instructions.
When the time comes, however, Muir is always first in line to chase a box-kick and contest in the air which, very much like Tom Roebuck, could be just why Borthwick has kept an eye on the Cleveland-born rugby star.
Here’s his tribute!
