They check too much overall, and when they decide to bet, it’s usually not a threatening sizing. When facing such players, most people believe that the way to exploit them is by overfolding - since these guys are passive, they are probably not bluffing enough, and therefore the appropriate adjustment is to fold a lot when they put money into the pot. That makes sense and is often a good adjustment on the river. However, it’s just the tip of the iceberg. There is A LOT more we can do to exploit passive players.
