Tolkien’s poem, “The King Beneath the Mountains!“ We worked very hard on this and hope you enjoy it:) A note on our interpretation: As described in the book, the legend of the Mountain King’s return was one that would bring much joy and fulfillment to both Dwarvenkind and mankind in and around the Lonely Mountain. Thus, we thought reading the prophecy seemed a fitting way to bring life to this text of legend, for would it not have been spoken far and wide for decades, until the day that it would be fulfilled? Then, the text is sung: the tune itself is quite simple, a regular folk tune. This made sense since it would be the common man to whom this prophecy would bring the most hope. The f
