Valentina A. Kratasyuk: Doctor of Science, professor, Head of Department of Biophysics, School of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology, Siberian Federal University: In the laboratory of bioluminescent biotechnology organized by a noble prize winner, professor Osama Shimomura, we are researching medicine, biomedicine, ecology, nanotechnology and biotechnology, radioecology, bioinformatics, mathematical modelling and other fields of biophysics. Our studies focus on the chemical nature of light emission by luminous organisms, modelling the enzyme metabolism and cell hyaloplasm, developing new generation of bioluminescent biosensors for environmental monitoring and medical diagnostics and other issues of bioluminescence.
