First elected to the Senate in November, 1972, he took office the following January from the State of Delaware, known among the banking and corporate elite as the off-shore haven that isn’t off-shore. Over his fifty years in government, the president’s family has acquired a considerable, multi-million dollar fortune. The business dealings of his son, Hunter, have come to light in recent years, including the fact that he obtained a no-show job as a board member of a privatized energy corporation in Ukraine while his father was deeply involved in the 2014 coup as vice president. After witnessing four years of investigations from the sidelines as a Congressional minority of Donald Trump  during his presidency, Republicans are now conducting investigations of this president as the majority in the House of Representatives. On Thursday, a House committee investigating Biden’s financial dealings released a detailed report of banking transactions and tax and other financial returns and held a press conference in the Capitol.
