The Most Underrated Philosopher of All Time? (Stephen Robbins Interview)
Henri Bergson, called “the most dangerous man in the world,“ envisioned a holographic theory of mind in 1896, 50 years before Gabor’s discovery, 80 years before Bohm argued for the universe as a holographic field. Bergson famously debated Einstein in 1922 and prevented him from winning the Nobel Prize.
I interview Stephen E. Robbins, who has a PhD in Educational Psych & Psychology from the University of Minnesota, with a focus on cognitive science. His thesis covered turn of the 20th century French philosopher Henri Bergson and his alternative model of mind. In the decades since, he’s published academic journal articles and three books on Bergson/consciousness.
Before his doctoral work, he was a Franciscan seminarian then served as a Marine infantry officer in Vietnam. After 33 years in the software industry, he’s now retired on a mini-farm in Wisconsin and runs a YouTube channel with over 80 videos dedicated to Bergson and his holographic theory.
