c. 1935 Reel 1. Very nice animation at head of the film with Metropolis like landscape featuring an airship and aircraft passing modern architecture. Streamlined trains pass through tunnels pulling the words: “Pathe Pictures Presents.“ Production: F. Watts. Photography & Diagrams.... Joe Noble, George Noble & A. Farmer. Technical Consultant . Harris. Car pulls in to a petrol station. Man runs beside the car then leans in to speak to the driver. C/U of hand pulling down petrol nozzle then C/U of nozzle being inserted into petrol tank of car. M/S of a shiny black car in a studio - rather like an advertising shot with a painted backdrop. Camera zooms in to the steering wheel - dissolve to another steering wheel then pull back to show the chassis of the car - stripped of its bodywork. C/U of rear number plate of car - reads MCI.
