Speaking at a Workers Party meeting in Blackburn, in northwest England, member of the UK Parliament George Galloway ripped the British political establishment for its role in creating and perpetuating the calamity in Palestine. Listen as he refers to the heyday of the British Empire, when Foreign Minister Arthur Balfour wrote the now-infamous ‘Balfour Declaration’ in 1917, promising Palestine as a homeland for the Jews, even though Palestinians inhabited the land. Before that, parts of Africa had been considered for a Jewish state.
