The Face of Takabuti (Artistic Reconstruction)

This mummy of a 20-30 year-old woman was buried West of Thebes near the end of the 25th dynasty of Egypt. According to hieroglyphs, she was married, the mistress of a great house, and the daughter of a priest of Amun. ARTIST NOTES: I was already aware that there were some well-known reconstructions of this mummy’s skull in circulation by highly esteemed forensic artists. As is often the case with 3D modeling, the results, for me at least, end up looking very “mask“ like with the large, dead, unseeing eyes
