Highlights of Russian Military Operation in Ukraine on May 1st 2023

▪️Ukrainian forces again used drones to attack the Crimean peninsula. Russian air defenses and Black Sea Fleet forces repelled the enemy attack. There were no civilian casualties. ▪️An explosive device went off on the Rassukha - Unecha railway line in the Bryansk region. Two locomotives and seven rail cars loaded with oil products and lumber derailed and caught fire as a result of the attack. ▪️On the Lyman section of the front, positional fighting continues in the area of Balka Zhuravka and to the west of Ploshchanka. Russian units, supported by artillery, established control over another AFU stronghold. ▪️In the western districts of Bakhmut, the Wagner PMC storm troopers took control of the first houses on the other side of Chajkovskogo Street. Meanwhile, fierce fighting with Ukrainian units continues on Levanevskoho Street. ▪️In the Avdiivka sector, Russian troops established control over the trenches south of Kamyanka. At the same time, the Ukrainian command is moving additional forces to the front line in an attempt to hold on to the occupied territories. ▪️South of Avdiivka, the AFU is concentrating significant forces in Tonen’ke and Sjeverne, preparing for a new counterattack attempt. Russian drones monitor the movements of enemy units and target them with artillery fire. ▪️The Russian Air Force carried out targeted strikes on a chemical plant in Pavlohrad, where significant stocks of solid rocket fuel were stored. Military equipment was also at the site, and AFU units were being re-supplied nearby.
