Astrophotography with a Telephoto Lens | Photographing the Pleiades, Moon, and Venus Conjunction
This video goes behind a ’Deepscape’ nightscape session (or astrophotography with a telephoto lens) on March 28th, 2020 when the Moon, Venus, and the Pleiades formed a night sky triangle. With careful planning, I was able to photograph Venus, Moon, and Pleiades as the triangle met the landscape with my Tamron 70-200 2.8 G2 lens. Including the landscape with the night sky with a telephoto lens in a photograph is a relatively new form of night sky photography called a ‘Deepscape’ and I’m excited to bring you behind the scenes of one. Hopefully, this video inspires you to get out into the night and try your own.
This Deepscape recently won a NASA APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day)! You can find the link to the write up here:

To practice deepscapes on your own you need a star tracker to track the movement of the night sky for longe
