Russia deploys 30,000 troops to Belarus

Russia has amassed around 30,000 combat troops and modern weapons to Belarus over the past several days, marking Moscow’s biggest military deployment to the country since the Cold War. Special operations forces, along with fighter jets, missiles and air defence systems are some of the weapons that have been transported. The military capabilities will be combined with Russia’s annual nuclear forces exercise expected to take place this month.
