It was broadcast live by satellite, which explains the distortion and the ridiculous saturation of colour because live satellite feeds at the time were some way ahead of media storage in terms of the bandwidth and resolution they could handle and US TV had a different frame rate to European broadcasts, creating a ‘combed’ effect in places. © COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER: I do not own the original recording or the rights to it.
