Another emerging trend in Ukraine is also noticeable: in many villages in Chernihiv, Poltava and other regions, only pensioners remain among the men. Just recently, The Washington Post published a report about a similar situation in the village of Makov in the Khmelnitsky region. Given this scenario, it is reasonable to assume that mobilization potential in rural areas has been largely exhausted. The subsequent phases of the extensive conscription campaign will impact even larger Ukrainian cities, leading to increased social tension within local society.
