Benefits Of The Syntropic Farming Method..
Welcome back to Down On The Farm. After two cyclones obliterated their flower farm, Neil and Jane Hawes struggled to see a future in agriculture. Defeated, in debt, and with about two decades of work under his belt, Mr Hawes thought farming was for fools.
It was a few years later when Thiago Barbosa came knocking at their door at Tolga, southwest of Cairns, to pitch a “self-sustaining“ farming method. Mr Hawes kicked him off the property because “it was all rubbish“. The Hawes and Mr Barbosa subscribe to the “syntropic“ farming method, developed by Swiss-Brazilian scientist Ernst Gotsch, which has divided expert opinion. Mr Hawes says while it takes guts to dive into the method, the pay-off is real. Check this video out and stay updated!
