Officials from the three countries have since been working to share real-time warning data. Pyongyang criticized the move in its official newspaper on Thursday. According to The Rodong Sinmun, it called the real-time data sharing a “reckless military move,“ adding that it had the underlying sinister intention of seeking an opportunity for a war by invading North Korea. It also said the trilateral cooperation was also intended to check on China and Russia. A South Korean unification ministry official told reporters that the government found it regrettable that Pyongyang was blatantly criticizing legitimate security cooperation between Seoul, Washington and Tokyo amid its own provocations such as developing illegal nuclear weapons that violated UN Security Council resolutions. The official urged Pyongyang to return to dialogue and break away from provocations and threats.
