Judgement at Nuremberg (1961) - Burt Lancaster Monologue

Judgement at Nuremberg was a 1961 film directed by Stanley Kramer and written by Abby Mann. The film endeavours to interrogate issues surrounding war crimes and international criminal law and specifically through the subsequent Nuremberg Trials following the Second World War. The star-studded cast included Spencer Tracy, Burt Lancaster, Richard Widmark, Maximilian Schnell, Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, William Shatner, and Montgomery Clift. The film received a largely positive critical reception and remains a significant piece of cinema. This clip occurs toward the end of the film, when judge Ernst Janning (Lancaster) admits to the crime for which he is accused and delivers one account for the descent of legal and political society in Nazi Germany.
