The Elevation Of Labour Reel 2 (1930)

Continued - Reel 2. Workers in factories, operating machinery, making leather shoes / boots (men’s footwear). Good footage of processes involved in making footwear in factory with C/Us of work. Then several shots show processes involved in making ladies’ snakeskin and leather shoes with a high cuban heel and one strap across instep (great 30s style!). The finished shoes are put into a tissue-paper lined box. Fade to black. Fade into shot of a woman’s feet and lower legs, wearing a similar pair of snakeskin shoes (and some rather wrinkled stockings). She sits and crosses her legs. C/U of shoes - divine! C/Us of some black court shoes with a tie at the front. Then C/U of some black patent leather shoes with a bar across, worn with some stockings with decorated seams going up the side, as well as the back of the leg. This model is standing on a revolving floor, so we see the lovely shoes from all angles. M/S of the models’ legs and feet as they walk towards each other and out of shot. Gr
