WW2 Spitfire - You Can Fly In This Fighter

This aircraft is one of three airworthy Spitfires currently in New Zealand (as at 2019). Known as ZK WDQ (civilian registration) or MH 367 (Royal Air Force designation) it was originally built at the Castle Bromwich factory in the UK in July 1943. Built as Mark IX with a Merlin 61 engine, the aircraft saw Wartime Service initially with No 65 Squadron RAF when it undertook its first operational sortie on 15 Aug 1943. The last combat sortie flown in the aircraft was on 18 April 1945. MH 367 was scrapped
