Media Trial : The RUGGIU case. Part I

Georges RUGGIU was one of the presenters of Radio Mille Collines (RTLM), often regarded as a decisive instrument for planning and executing the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Arrested on July 23, 1997 in Mombasa (Kenya) by investigators from the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda(ICTR), he was transferred to Arusha (Tanzania), seat of the Court where he was the only non-Rwandan accused by this juridiction. On 1 June 2000, he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.
