Easter Parade (1950)

Regent’s Park, London. Various shots of showgirls in Regent’s Park wearing their Victorian costumes from the current musical comedy theatre show of ’Wild Violets’. First we see a group of girls in identical hats and dresses, walking along behind their teacher. The girls stop on an ornamental bridge and look at the river. Two girls in Victorian tennis outfits walk along with a girl in a golfing costume. They meet some women in flouncy dresses carrying parasols and stop to talk. We are told that all the costumes are perfect replicas of those worn in the period and were originally designed for the show (sounds like a bit of contradiction). A group of girls in striped skirts and tight jackets ride their bicycles about the park. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
