1960 Gibson Les Paul played by Joe Robinson

One of the “double-0“ bursts from early in 1960, this guitar has seen its share of smoky venues. A layer of nicotine has turned the finish a rich dark red. The neck pickup is a zebra-coil PAF and the bridge is double-black. All three of the black coils failed to survive the years of smoke and grim, and they had to be rewound (by Carter Vintage) and brought back to their original glorious sound. This is a workingman’s plaintop, with all of the “flame“ in its sound.
