A Beam From The Co-Optimists At The Prince Of Wales Theatre (1929)

Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Main title is superimposed over moving footage of the chorus who are dressed in pierrot costumes. “Phyllis Monkman and Austin Melford gave us a new rival to “The Blues.“ “The Bumps“ they nearly called it.“ L/S of two of the pierrots dancing in front of curtains. It is a comedy dance as the male pierrot doesn’t do the right thing and the girl falls over. There is a bit of slapstick rough and tumble. Possibly a skit on the “Apache“ dance. Extracts are probably from the stage show “The Co-Optimists“. Note: this film was not listed on Eve Pic issue sheets as it was attached to the end of “Dédé“ and appeared to be part of that film as there was no separating leader. It is a separate film but only a short segment, the rest is currently missing. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
