Original VS copy! Giuliani: La Rose, performed on a Fabricatore Guitar from 1830 and 2020
1:11 - The modern Fabricatore by Leonardo Michelin Salomon
3:20 - The original Fabricatore from 1830
I have had this modern Fabricatore by Leonardo Michelin Salomon for a couple of months now. And I finally found time to record the two guitars for a comparison video. I couldn’t just record a few seconds of music on each guitar because it is nearly impossible to do exactly the same thing twice. So I performed one of my favorite short pieces by Giuliani. “La Rose“, which is number 9 in a set of pieces called “Choix de mes fleurs chéries ou Le Bouquet Emblématique“ Opus 46. I hope you enjoy it.
Background music while Im talking is me and Jacob Cordover playing; check out this video if you want to hear it more clearly:
Recorded with Telefunken M60 in AB Stereo and a Blue Babybottle SL as room mic. It went through my Focusrite Clarett and into my Mac. There is no EQ, the settings are exactly the same for the two recordings. But I have added a bit of artificial reverb. Thanks to Roger Langvik for the reverb samples.
