Mud, stones , boards: grandmother’s tools for nesting in the mountains

Mahijan’s grandmother, a strong and compassionate woman, lives in the mountains next to two orphan girls who have taken refuge in a cave she made. Despite their meager resources, they shared a bond that radiated warmth and hope. When a benevolent videographer visited their mountain retreat, he gifted them a hen and her chickens, giving them an unexpected source of happiness and sustenance. Inspired by the need to protect their newfound feathered friends, Grandma and the girls eagerly set about building a cozy nest using mud, stones, and spare boards, arranging each element with care and dedication. As the nest was formed, a deep sense of unity and purpose developed in the small mountain community. The synergy between the grandmother, the daughters and the cameraman symbolized the resilience of the human spirit and created a lasting example of collective ingenuity, compassion and strength in the midst of challenging circumstances.
