How to Shoot for Takedown in BJJ [Beginner Primer]
Most people don’t come to BJJ with wrestling experience. As such it can be daunting to learn takedowns and easy to settle for groundwork. You don’t have to do takedowns every class, but you must become proficient in bringing a resisting opponent to the ground if you’re ever to be considered a complete grappler.
So many takedowns hinge on getting to the hips & legs. That starts with shooting in. Broken down into levels, the movements are digestible and help build confidence and muscle memory when it comes time for technical and live applications.
It’s also hilarious when the kids do races from the kneeling variations
