Hundreds of activists are escorted out by Capitol police and are arrested. The activists are members of the Jewish Voice for Peace, an American based left-wing Jewish NGO that is critical of Israel’s continued occupation of the Palestinian territories in Gaza and the West Bank and routinely organises and supports boycotts against Israel. Their storming of the U.S. Capitol comes one day before the arrival of Israeli prime-minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is supposed to speak in front of the U.S. Congress to ask for more American aid to Israel.
