Crash (2004) - ’Flames’/Car crash scene

With over a decade of hindsight, Crash often gets mentioned as one of the worst films to win the Best Picture Oscar. But it’s hard to deny that the acting is great, and some of the scenes, such as this one, are perfect. This second encounter between the cop and the women he groped on the job is like a mini-movie of its own. Mark Isham provided the film with a simple but effective synthesiser score, but for this central scene he added vocal samples with great effect. Written and directed by Paul Haggis.
