Poco Lena

Without a doubt, one of the best known early AQHA cutting horses of all time. She was Reserve NCHA Champion 5 times, in the top ten 9 times, escaped death once when she coliced under Don Dodge’s ownership and had to be rushed into surgery, escaped death a second time when she was left abandonded in a trailer, and escaped death yet a third time when her last owners, upon seeing her for the first time, wanted to put her down. The Jensen’s attending vets convinced them to give her a chance. After three years, the effects of the hormones she was under while showing finally subsided, and she was in foal for the first time. Sadly, she only produced two foals, but both went on to found a dynasty that still exists today.
