An Introduction of Words and Swords - Katanagatari Episode 1 Analysis

Katanagatari is a masterpiece, but it’s certainly not one for everyone. While it is a story of swords, it may moreso be a story of words, and even though the first episode is not as spectacular in terms of its theming, symbolism, direction, and sound design as some later episodes - it is still an effective introduction at keying the audience in to exactly what kind of story Katanagatari is.
