Tijuana’s Youth Are Responding To The US-Mexico Border crisis

On February 15, US President Donald Trump declared a national emergency to bypass Congress and free up billions for a border wall between the US and Mexico. The alleged national emergency? A migrant caravan of several thousand people that arrived at the border fleeing violence in Central America. Since the caravan’s arrival in October 2018, Tijuana has been the site of protests and riots. Border police fired tear gas at migrants trying to rush the border, and the streets have become a hotbed for disease.
