Java is not the only compiled, statically typed, programming language for the JVM. Many already know of Scala. There are new comers, most notably Ceylon and Kotlin. In this session, I shall do a brief compare and contrast of these languages, and a couple of possibly surprising ones, to see what the pros and cons are of each. And possibly select one to use for the next project.
