Piers Morgan Debates Whether Drag Queens Should Perform In Front Of Children

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by human rights activist Peter Tatchell, drag artist Vanity Von Glow and political commentator and YouTuber Lauren Chen to debate whether it is appropriate for drag artists to dress up and perform in front of children. Vanity explains that within drag there are different types of performances and therefore agrees it would be dangerous for sexualised ones meant for adult audiences to be performed in front of children. However, she says that isn’t the case, adding that it is more ’Disney princes’ styled drag during these story times for kids and not the burlesque style that most are familiar with. Lauren thinks drag performances are not appropriate for children and that some of the videos circling online of them are disturbing. She also adds that there is a difference between drag and cross-dressing, as drag is more rooted in sexualised performances and so suggests that there must be more appropriate ways of making storytimes fun for kids without expos
