TRADITIONAL RAVA DANCE FOR FISHING

Rabha or Rava is the name of a tribe. West Bengal’s predominantly forest-dwelling Ravas have historically engaged in a few traditional ceremonies. Rava’s life’s main elements are dance and music. Following each after-noon safari through the Chilapata jungle, the West Bengal Forest Department arranged a traditional dance program to a song in Rava’s own vernacular.
