Hundreds feared dead as powerful storm devastates eastern Libya

Hundreds have been killed and thousands missing in floods caused by Storm Daniel. The worst affected city is thought to be Derna, where authorities say two dams burst in the heavy rainfall. That sent a wall of water down a valley and through the port city. Roads, buildings and bridges have been destroyed. Storm Daniel brought the heaviest amount of rainfall in a single day -- in nearly 40 years. Libya’s rival governments have both announced three days of national mourning.
