Meaning of MOTORMOUTH and LOUDMOUTH - A Short English Lesson with Subtitles

READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH: So in English, when we call someone a motormouth we are saying that they are a person who won’t stop talking. A motormouth is someone who doesn’t let the other person in the conversation get a word in edge-wise. They don’t let the other person talk because their mouth is like a motor. Their mouth is just constantly moving and they are just constantly talking. So, when someone is a motormouth, they won’t shut up. It’s not a nice way to say it, but a motormouth is a person who won’t shut up, a person who won’t stop talking. Often times, we describe children this way. I won’t say who, but one of my kids is a little bit of a motormouth. They don’t stop talking very often. They talk quite a bit, and if they are awake, they are talking. So they are a little bit of a motormouth. I’m sure you have someone in your family as well who is a motormouth. I have another English word here, loudmouth. A loudmouth is a person who speaks loudly
