“Tchaikovsky’s Requiem”, an epic modern fusion bellydance piece, takes inspiration from German choreographer Pina Bausch, Loie Fuller’s Serpentine Dance, and the dark tone of Darren Aronofsky’s films. In this “bellydance ballet” a story unfolds of love, death, the underworld, and transcendence. The musical foundation for this piece is a compilation of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Op. 71 (also called “Arabian Dance“ or “Coffee“), “Mina’s Photo“ composed by Anton Copolla for Braham Stoker’s Dracula, and Clint Mansell
