In a hall electrified by the delight of what has happened and the anticipation of what is yet to come, the Dombra finds its way into his hands and comes to life. Its first notes set the scene, raising an ethereal veil behind him, like a reflection from another world. It’s the prelude of a heartbreaking tale... The story teller re-emerges, hammering the mic-stand on the stage floor. The spot is claimed. And the voice is set loose, sweeping away the veil along with the stage, like a howling wind. A slit into the tale’s world cracks open.
