Former businesswoman Elizabeth Holmes and her ex-boyfriend Ramesh Sunny Balwani are going to trial today. Who is she, what happened, why is she going on trial, and why is it such a big deal? They’re charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and nine counts of wire fraud, according to the indictment they were allegedly engaging in a multi-million-dollar scheme to defraud investors and a separate scheme to defraud doctors and patients.
