Frank Farian is of course Germany’s most successful producer of all time. After struggling to break through as a solo artist in the 1960s, he finally achieved success with Boney M. in 1976, riding high in the charts with them over the next 5 years, together with Eruption & Precious Wilson. While the first half of the 80s failed to yield any major hit singles for him, he found success with his rock ensemble FAR Corporation (Stairway To Heaven, 1985) and hit back big time with Milli Vanilli in the late 80s, giving him 3 US #1 hits and a platinum selling album. After the scandal broke big that the front men Rob & Fab did not sing themselves, Farian continued to launch new acts during the 90s, of which notably La Bouche & No Mercy had several international hits.
